Don't send me your regrets.

Three years after their last work, the remembered nineties shoegazers SHOULD (ex-shiFt) have just published a new opus. It is about "The Great Pretend", a pop gem of 11 songs and 43 minutes of running time. Should has changed coordinates completely now: good-bye to the noisy textures of Slowdive or My Bloody Valentine, welcomes the harmonies, structures and songs ala Galaxie 500 or the most indie Yo La Tengo.
The direction of the band continues under the duo of Tanya Maus and Marc Ostermeier. Years have passed already after that sublime début, "A Folding Sieve", of 1995 and though there are still glimmers of that first youth in "The Great Pretend", I perceive that the concern for the guitarrorist noise and the aural assault is a thing of the past for them. Instead of that Tanya and Marc, besides his role of professors and investigators in universities of U.S.A., they focus on the make up of pop hymns which the most insensitive would like to stand up to sing exceeded of emotion in the park or square of his neighborhood. There are enormous quantities of fantasy still in all of this, the magic that Should impregnate to their voices dyes everything of an alienating aura more than seductive. They take us like soldiers and rules our feelings with telluric strength. Ahhh!! The singing of Should detonates heavenly sensations and daydreams.
Once again, no song exceeds all of them fit. Your soul will fit into each one of them perfectly, I assure it to you. We are in front of a greatest work of the indie-pop of last 20 years. Don't send me your regrets.
