Only recently, I told you about a remix that Ummagma released, which was done by San Francisco-based DIY artist Jane Woodman. Well, not much time has passed and this Canadian/Ukrainian duo have already released a new remix of their song ‘Lama’. This time, the remix brings Ummagma closer to dance club territory, while still leaving enough of their eclectic element to keep this one in the 'awesome and trippy' category. No doubt this couple will bring more heavens to all of us in the alternative dreamy scene... thank Sooper Kosmos for that... Yeah!!!!
So now who did the rework? This remix comes courtesy of Ian Baird (drummer in A*Star and mastermind behind Spring Clock Wonder). No stranger to doing remixes, having previously done a remix of "Telling You" for SPC ECO, this latest track has a similar upbeat vibe happening while retaining much of the spacey ethereal quality that Ummagma is best known for.
This single is the latest contribution to the Fund for Danny Lackey, a charitable initiative created in memory of Danny Lackey, co-founder of the When the Sun Hits blog and a leader in the shoegaze dreampop post-punk community, who recently lost his battle with cancer. Funds raised will help his family cover the massive medical bills incurred. This remix is available on Ummagma's Soundcloud page and can be purchased via the Fund’s Bandcamp page.
